Congrats to Sara Booher for taking second in the Optimist Oratorical contest Wednesday evening.  Also thanks to Isra Ahmed, Grace Booher and Raghav Pandya for participating.  The judges were quite impressed with your excellent public speaking skills!
 
After the 1st count in our Penny War the leading Flex class was Mrs. Lockwood.  They won donuts today.  In 2nd place was Mrs. Dedrick’s flex followed by Mr. Sherry’s flex in 3rd place.  Check out the poster outside of the health room to see your flex’s score.  Remember that the number listed on the poster is the number of pennies per student in the flex class.  Good luck everyone, keep bringing in those pennies.  Our next counting day is next Monday, March 27th

Congratulations to the 8th Grade Volleyball Team for their win over a tough Cedarburg Webster team last night. We had a match record of 6 blocks, 16 kills, and 14 digs. Serving 5 in a row were Alyssa Ryckman, Jaelyn Patrick, and Kady Stigler-twice. Thanks to all our super fans that came out to the games and to the Track Team for supplying concessions during our matches. Overall the team had a fantastic season, going 38-13 in game play and winning 13 of 14 matches. Great job to all the 8th graders who played this season, please congratulate:

After the 7th week of our original North Investopedia Stock Market Simulation, the Business Education Department is proud to announce our top Financial Life Skills investors.  They are Aidan Werner-Morden, Ben Janowski, Kady Stigler, Sam Tate, and Colton Marshall.   Aidan is in first place, due to large gains in stocks such as Royal Caribbean Cruises, Apple, Hasbro, and Disney.  Keep up the strong research as there are only 3 weeks left to go.

On Tuesday night, the 7th grade volleyball girls defeated West Bend winning 2 out 3 games with a close loss of 22-25.  Taylor Larson (3x’s), Paige Lillegard (2x’s), and Abie Stigler dominated by serving 5 in a row!  Setters, Olivia Hoffman and Claire Gibson assisted attacks for Abie Stigler and Brooke Robinson.  Great spirit was led by Mackenna Kane, Morgan Frederick and Crystal Kastenholz.
Last night, the 7th grade volleyball girls fought hard against Stephen losing their second game 22-25.  Olivia Hoffman, Taylor Larson, and Paige Lillegard again dominated in serving.  Defense specialists, Drew Gersmeyer, Maddie Sieberlich, and Rylie Ceplina set up passes to Kylie Biello who then executed the kills by Danea King and Abie Stigler. Great saves by Morgan Becker and Hali Forster.Come cheer us on tonight against Slinger!
 
On Tuesday night, the 8th grade volleyball team for their sweep over the West Bend Badger White Team.
Stepping up hitting and blocking like MANIACS were Blessing Maduka, Sara Booher, and Hailey Carver. Serving 5 in a row were Alyssa Ryckman, Leah Groholski, and Kady Stigler and Kenzie Landolt twice (each). The team plays again tonight at home at 3:45pm. Come on out and enjoy the concessions and cheer the team on to a victory!

The event will be held on Wednesday, May 3, at Village Park, immediately following dismissal. It will be followed by our After Blast party. You will qualify for a Color-A-Thon T-Shirt if you raise $30 or more. There are tons of other cool prizes too. Students, you won’t want to miss it! Congratulations to the 8th Grade Volleyball Team for their win over the West Bend Badger Red Team on Tuesday. Leading in kills were Kady Stigler and Emma Schoenauer. The girls put up several blocks, transitioned well off the net, and played out several three hits in a row. Serving five in a row were Audree Ciganek, Alyssa Ryckman, Leah Groholski, and Kady Stigler. The Indians play tonight at 3:45 against Templeton. Snacks may be purchased at the concession stand. So come on out and cheer them on. Good Luck Ladies!!
 
Congratulations to the 7th grade girls volleyball team!  The Falls defeated West Bend winning 2 out of 3 games.Taylor Larson, Paige Lillegard and Abie Stigler dominated in serving each serving 5 in a row!  Setters Claire Gibson and Kylie Biello assisted attacks for Morgan Becker and Morgan Fredrick.  Great leadership and communication was led by Crysta Kastenholz and Drew Gersmeyer! Come see the team tonight as they take on Sussex Templeton!  It should be a great game!

Art Students: Ms. McKendry and Mrs. Gonyer would like to congratulate NMS art students with work on display at the Menomonee Falls Public Library in honor of Youth Art Month, a nationwide celebration of young artists. The Youth Art Month opening reception will be held from 6:30-8:00 p.m. on Tuesday, March 7, 2017 at the Menomonee Falls Public Library; the student awards ceremony will begin at 7:00 p.m. This year’s reception will feature face painting by MFHS Art Honor Society, wonderful hors d’oeuvres funded by our PTSOs, and an awards ceremony presented by the Friends of the Library.  The annual event hosts hundreds of amazing pieces of student artwork. The creative artwork will be on display through March 28, 2017.  We hope everyone will stop by and help recognize the effort and talent demonstrated by Menomonee Falls public schoolchildren, grades 1-12.
 
Best Buddies: Attention students interested joining a new club at North!  We are excited to announce that Best Buddies is coming to North Middle School! Best Buddies is an international nonprofit organization that seeks to enhance the lives of people with and without intellectual and developmental disabilities through inclusion, friendship, and advocacy.
 Best Buddies is a “friendship club” that has programs in elementary schools, middle schools and high schools. Best Buddies “friendship club” matches students in a one-to-one friendship (Buddy Pair) between a student with and a student without an intellectual disability. Students make a one school year commitment to contact their buddy once a week and hang out with their buddy twice per month.  
There will be an informational meeting today at 6:30 pm in the LMC.  
 If you are interested in finding out more information about this unique opportunity please see Mr. Schneider in room 114 or Ms. Duckert in room 121A.

Financial Life Skills Class: We are now into the sixth week of our North Investopedia Stock Market Simulation.  After an exciting month on Wall Street, the Business Education Department is proud to announce the top investors from our 8th grade classes.  They are Talon Morton, Sam Tate, Andrew Scargill, Ben Janowski, Megan Timm and Aidan Werner-Morden.   Strong research has been conducted by our 54 Financial Life Skills students, staff members, parents, and other interested students, including Zoe Sebestyen, our 6th grade leader, and Brayden Rosenow, our 7th grade leader.  Keep buying and selling stocks as there are only 5 weeks left in the simulation.

Drama Club: Don’t miss our Drama Club production of Aladdin Jr.  What are your wishes?  North Middle School Drama Club production of Aladdin Jr. has two public performances on March 3 at 7:00 pm and March 4 at 2:00 pm in the auditorium at North.  Tickets are sold at the door for $6.00 each (Cash or check- sorry no credit cards!) Tickets can be purchased in advance through drama club members only.  The 90 members of our drama club have been working hard since January 4 to get ready to entertain you and we will not disappoint.  Will Aladdin find true love?  Will Genie’s magic do the trick? Will Jasmine find a way to balance family and independence? And how do you do a flying carpet on a stage?  All of these questions and more will be answered in our 60 minute version of the Disney and Broadway classic.  We hope to see you there!

Blessing Maduka and Sara Booher both kept us alive with their serves. Serving 5 in a row were Mackenzie Landolt, Mya Gersmeyer, and Kady Stigler. The team plays away at West Bend on Tuesday. Wish them luck.

Drama Club: Don’t miss our Drama Club production of Aladdin Jr.  What are your wishes?  North Middle School Drama Club production of Aladdin Jr. has two public performances on March 3 at 7:00 pm and March 4 at 2:00 pm in the auditorium at North.  Tickets are sold at the door for $6.00 each (Cash or check- sorry no credit cards!) The team had 22 kills, Leah Groholski led the team with 5 kills.  Leading the team with 4 of the 12 digs was Ashley Ciganek and coming up with a great block was Gabby Cosentino.  They also had an amazing 21 serving aces. Serving 5-in-a-row were Mackenzie Landolt, Emma Schoenauer, Mya Gersmeyer, and Alyssa Ryckman-twice. The Lady Indians play again at home tonight at 3:45 against border rivals, Kennedy Middle School. Come on out and cheer them on!

Volleyball: After an exciting and intense match the 8th Grade Volleyball Team was able to pull off a huge win over a strong Grafton Middle School Team. Mya Gersmeyer did a great job as the liebero. Emma Schoenauer led in kills and Mackenzie Landolt put up a huge block. Serving 5-in-a row were Brynn Mitchell and Kady Stigler twice. The team travels to Slinger tonight, good luck.
